USD 490 Blackmore Elementary School

El Dorado, Kansas

In effort to find efficiencies, USD 490 reviewed their existing neighborhood elementary centers and with help from the community-based advisory committee, it was decided that five centers should become three. The new Blackmore Elementary replaced two schools and was built on existing district property, adjacent to one of those schools. During construction, students remained in their old school with minimal disruption to their environment. The layout is organized by grade level with extended learning areas for common use.
