Performing Arts Center

El Dorado, Kansas

In 2010, El Dorado Public Schools USD 490 implemented a multi-phase, long-range facilities plan that consisted of two separate bonds. Phase I included a new elementary and middle school. Just a few years after Phase I completion, in May of 2016, the second bond election was also successful. This incorporated two new additional elementary schools and the extensive renovation and repurposing of the 1930s former high school and middle school to include classroom space and a Performing Arts Center. This project involved great community collaboration to fulfill the vision of the District and meet the needs of the community. Today, the Performing Arts Center serves as the featured theater for the entire district and other community performances.
