Butler CC Welcome Center

El Dorado, Kansas

With a shortage of meeting spaces for the community and students, the BCC administration and The Butler Foundation determined to give back to the students spaces that were originally part of the Student Union and which they had taken for office space.

Today, the Butler Community College Hubbard Welcome Center is a crowning jewel for the college and community. It is located at the entry to the main campus on Haverhill Road in El Dorado, Kansas.

This 35,000-square-foot building stands two stories tall and includes open, public spaces for new and visiting students and parents and large community meeting and banquet spaces. It houses the executive offices of the president of the College, Board of Trustees and the Butler Foundation.

Exterior materials include pre-cast concrete panels in a buff earth tone, buff-colored brick to match the existing campus aesthetic and aluminum storefront glass at entrances and in major window areas. The interior features stained-concrete and carpeted floors, vaulted and painted ceilings, and ceramic-tile accents.
