PK-12 Summer Wrap

As the first day of school approaches, many of our education clients are in punch week—the final push to complete summer improvements and prepare facilities for students and staff.

The summer construction window is short, but the work required to prepare for it isn’t.

Successful projects begin months in advance with facility evaluation, priority setting, budgeting, design, stakeholder coordination, and bidding. Starting early gives District leaders time to make informed decisions before the pressure of the summer schedule sets in.

It also creates an opportunity to look beyond a single project and ask: What can we realistically accomplish next summer, and what should come next?

This summer, our team has been working with Districts on projects including:

  • USD 453 Leavenworth – FACS Remodel
  • USD 492 Flinthills – Competition Gym Structural Stabilization
  • USD 375 Circle – Oil Hill Elementary Pre-K Addition, scheduled for completion Fall 2026

These projects vary in scope, but each relies on the same fundamentals: early coordination, clear priorities, experienced construction management, and timely decisions when field conditions require a response. Our principals stay actively involved throughout construction, bringing their experience and familiarity with each District’s goals directly to the jobsite. When questions or unexpected conditions arise, that continuity helps the team evaluate options quickly, make informed decisions, and keep work moving within a demanding summer schedule.

Whatever is on your District’s facility list, starting the conversation now creates more options for evaluating needs, establishing budgets, developing the right scope, and positioning projects for a successful construction window.

Summer 2027 will be here quickly. Let’s start planning what your District can accomplish.
