“Ribbon cuttings and grand openings for schools are a real joy for us. It’s one of the project types we cherish the most because it’s a chance to touch the future and make a difference for the community. Our relationship with Circle Schools is more personal than our proximity or history of repeat work. When Vince started his education, he was a kindergartner at Benton Elementary. His father, Gerald Haines, was the school’s principal at the time. Vince reminisced how he and his siblings would run through the open field north of the school to go home. Much of that green space has been preserved throughout this project.
Gerald was present for the ceremony and was greeted by former students, many of whom have children attending the new school. He also received a personal tour by the designer.
USD 375 Superintendent Don Potter said, “With the combined efforts of those present here today, we embark on a journey that will shape the lives of generations to come for those who enter these classrooms.” We look forward to seeing how this built environment shapes the learning and development of Benton’s youth.
It was our pleasure to help dedicate Circle Benton Elementary for an exciting start to their 2023-2024 school year. This bond issue work, performed in partnership with Simpson Construction, has almost reached the finish line, with a few details left to wrap up.
“Our vision for this district goes beyond what we see in brick and mortar; it encompasses academics, character, community and fun.” Mr. Potter remarked. We couldn’t agree more and that’s what drives our design team everyday to deliver exceptional spaces for our education clients.

Benton school and community will always remain a special place in our family and my career journey.
